July is a delightful month in the UK. For tennis fans, there is the excitement of Wimbledon while for those who have just completed their degrees, it is the season of graduation – a time to celebrate with friends and family in front of the university community. Queen Mary’s graduation ceremonies take place over several days in mid-July and this short film gives you a good sense of what to expect:
Three years after they successfully completed the IFP, and after a great deal of hard work and perserversence, July was also a time for many IFP alumni to graduate from Queen Mary – students like Tornike Liparteliani (BA Politics 2:1), who you can see in the posing in front of the Queens’ Building in his graduation gown.
I’m planning to do a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) at City Law School. This is a law conversion course which is the first step towards qualifying as a solicitor. Qualifying in English Law will enable me to work around the world and I hope that in the future I will be able to find a job with a multinational company.
Tornike speaks Russian, English, Hungarian and Georgian and is learning a number of other languages so there is no doubt that he will be in demand from employers. Find out more about other IFP alumni who have graduated from Queen Mary and elsewhere here.
